Watching #vma’s and just saw @iggyazalea showing her #trustyourstruggle tattoo. It’s pretty crazy to see how far #Tys has spread over the years. But the real reason I continue to spread the word is cause of this note I got earlier today. Thanks Pedro. (at James Kenney Recreation Center)

Beautiful short film by Karen Seneferu and Dawood Sekhem for the Oakland Museum, filmed in part in front of our collaborative mural at Youth Radio.
The artist describes the piece as,
"A film dedicated to Oscar Grant, Trayvon Martin, and Andy Lopez and countless other Black and Brown people murdered by police, security guards and vigilantes. I asked people what was the first thought or emotion that came to mind when they heard about the murders and subsequent verdict of these trials? The video caught their expressions."

"It’s a big-ass mural. This is only about a fourth of it here," said Perez, a skillful Berkeley-bred street artist and illustrator who was working on the sky section of the 26-by-22-foot banner he was commissioned to paint for the seventh edition of Bay Area Now, the triennial temperature-taking exhibition produced by San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
